Is the New iPhone Too Complicated?
For those of you still sitting on the fence about buying a new iPhone for reasons other than the price, there is some very good news ahead.
As with most of Apple's products, it is a bit daunting when you first start out with it simply because it is so simple.
I'll admit to having those same thoughts when I started out with my iPod.
Where are all the buttons? Where are all the menus and guides and information on how to use this nifty, and expensive, new toy?
After a few pokes and pushes (I'm a big fan of the 'poke and hope' method of figuring things out), I was able to get around quite easily.
Have I exhausted all of its little tricks and intricacies?
Not a chance, but I can use it quite well now, thank you.
So, how about the new iPhone? Is it too complicated?
Nope. It is very simple.
Just how simple is it?
Well, while visiting with a good friend who was showing off his new iPhone, my 7 year old son, picked it up, and was flashing through the photo viewer after just watching it being done a couple of times.
Okay, I think he's a pretty bright boy, but I'm his father. I'm supposed to think that, but even my friend was impressed with how quickly and easily my son was able to scroll around, change things, and view the pictures that he wanted to see.
The buttons are what they say they are. Touching it is a lot like using a touchpad mouse. While that takes a bit of getting used to - adjusting to the right amount of pressure and time - it does not take long.
You will be surfing around, making calls, viewing your pictures and videos and enjoying your new gadget in a jiffy.
